2.0.1. Attendance

Student attendance is logged during the first week of class, and otherwise activity in the class is judged based on work submitted via Canvas. Attendance is not tied to a grade, but extended lack of attendance may lead to a faculty initiated withdrawal.

  1. Faculty Initiated Withdrawal
    • If I notice that you haven't submitted any assignments for two weeks, I will submit an Academic Alert and the Academic Achievement Center will reach out to you to see how they can help; if missing assignments continues or no plan is set up with the AAC, then I will send a drop warning prior to dropping you from the course.
    • If you're going to be absent for an extended period of time, such as for sickness or travel, please contact me ahead of time so we can figure out a catch-up schedule and so I know to not withdraw you from the course.
    • See also: Student Attendance Operating Procedure
  2. Lake Work and Makeup Policy
    • Due Date: The due date of the assignment.
    • End Date (aka Available Until Date): The last chance to turn in the Assignment.
    • Late Penalty: -2% per day after the due date for initial assignment submission.
    • Submitting Revisions: Graded work will have feedback. If you submit incomplete or incorrect work you will be able to take the feedback and revise and resubmit your work. If your initial good-faith attempt was turned in by the due date, then any late penalty for fixes after the due date will be waived.
    • Additional Notes: Certain auto-graded assignments, such as quizzes, can be redone as many times as desired to improve score.
